About

Xypex Bio-San C500 is a Xypex protection solution for concrete infrastructure in the sewer and wastewater sectors of the construction industry. Xypex Bio-San C500 is an antimicrobial waterproofing and durability enhancing admixture that helps clients meet sustainability performance within their sewer and wastewater concrete structures. Xypex Crystalline Technology significantly extends the service life of the asset and reduces the whole of lifecycle impact. Xypex’s primary and most distinguishing performance feature is its unique ability to generate a permanent, non-soluble crystalline structure which blocks the pores, capillary tracts and micro-cracks within the concrete matrix and permanently seals the concrete against the penetration of water and other liquids from any direction. This durability performance provides resistance to acid and sulphate attack. Xypex Bio-San Antimicrobial Crystalline Technology also delivers long term concrete protection against H₂S attack and Microbial Induced Corrosion (MIC) in sewer and wastewater environments. As it becomes an integral component within the matrix of the concrete, it remains active for the life of the structure and provides self-healing properties for static micro-cracks up to 0.4mm wide.
