About us

  • We are a sustainability consulting firm with a team of 9 professionals, growing to 12 or more in 2023. This is our 10th year of operation!
  • We have great clients and a range of significant contracts with governments and major companies, giving us a secure book of work over several years.
  • With offices in Brisbane City, our work is concentrated in Queensland and sometimes inter-state. We also have one consultant based in Melbourne.
  • Most of our work involves embedding sustainability on major infrastructure projects, such as rail, roads, dams and water pipelines (our team has decided not to work on coal mining).
  • In infrastructure, our clients include government agencies, construction contractors, engineering designers, business case advisors and the Infrastructure Sustainability Council.
  • We also help organisations on strategy and policy for sustainability, ESG, carbon management and climate change. Examples include the Plastic Pollution Reduction Plan for the Queensland Government and ARTC’s Greenhouse Gas Reduction Plan.
  • We like to collaborate as a team across our projects, with regular meetings, providing a supportive culture among colleagues.

About the role

As a Principal Consultant, you will:

  • Report to the director (Scott Losee)
  • Provide authoritative sustainability advice.
  • Lead and collaborate with small teams, including within client organisations and infrastructure project delivery teams
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to team members

Key responsibilities

  • Guide infrastructure planning, design and construction teams in achieving infrastructure sustainability ratings
  • Oversee the analysis and modelling of sustainability data, and the preparation of reports
  • Provide authoritative advice on, and lead, sustainability processes such as workshops, materiality assessments, sustainable procurement, stakeholder engagement and environmental management
  • Develop ESG, net zero and environmental strategies and policies
  • Contribute to business development and management

Skills and experience

Candidates must have:

  • 10 years’ professional experience, including at least 5 years providing sustainability advice
  • Experience implementing Infrastructure Sustainability ratings
  • Initiative
  • Comfort with challenging deadlines in a fast-paced, client-oriented, commercial environment
  • Critical thinking on environment and sustainability problems
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Strong quantitative, data handling and spreadsheet skills
  • A bachelor’s degree in environmental science or an engineering discipline (preferably with training in sustainability)
  • An existing right to work in Australia for at least 3 years.
