 IS Water Advisory Group

Work plan ready and kicked off.

The recently established IS Water Advisory Group (ISWAG) has finalised its work plan, which focuses on exploring the benefits of IS ratings for water infrastructure - including new and existing assets.

ISWAG will look at the ROI to the sector and how to drive large-scale sustainability performance across all programs.

ISWAG will review water projects currently undergoing an IS rating, and national and international best practices and benchmarks, thus gaining insights that will be valuable within the member organisations and the sector more broadly.

ISWAG will make recommendations to the sector and the ISC by mid-2023.

IS Water Advisory Group is chaired by Rod Naylor, Global Water Lead at GHD, and its members are SA Water, Sydney Water (NSW), Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (VIC), Water Corporation (WA), Coliban Water (VIC), Sunwater (QLD), Parkes Shire Council (NSW), Wellington Water (NZ), Water Services Association of Australia, Aecom, Aurecon, KPMG, Mott MacDonald, and the ISC.

RISE Mentoring Program

RISE application opening in 2023

The RISE mentoring program creates a leadership bench of sustainability professionals ready to shine as sustainability continues to centre itself as a business and societal priority.

The RISE mentoring program supports our belief that sustainability is the leadership competency of our time. The inaugural 2022 program saw 20 senior leaders in the role of mentors and 20 sustainability professionals as mentees, matched based on their professional goals, experience and drivers.

In a recent program survey participants shared some benefits derived from the program so far:

"The program and interaction with my mentor stimulated a lot of self-reflection, and discussions with friends and colleagues on how to improve leadership skills. Since joining the program, I am more focused on taking a strategic approach towards my career."

"Appreciated the information material and structure provided by the programme. I also like the regular updates and prompts (e.g. re-evaluating mentees' goals etc.)"

"I think I have been matched really well with my mentor, she has a great understanding of my current role and experience and is able to provide great advice with that knowledge."

Are you interested in developing a reciprocal mentoring relationship in 2023?

Mentor and Mentee applications for the 2023 program will open to all member organisations in January 2023.

Register your expression of interest and ISC will contact you prior to applications opening with the 2023 RISE handbook.
