2022 Federal Budget Brief

The Infrastructure Sustainability Council welcomes the Budget's first steps but calls for investment and action in infrastructure to reach net zero.

The Federal Government’s Budget recognition of infrastructure as a great enabler of social, economic and environmental benefits has been welcomed by Infrastructure Sustainability Council CEO Ainsley Simpson.

“This Budget represents a sensible first step in addressing climate change, but with only seven years to 2030 and the need to reduce our emissions by at least 43%, it's time to make every dollar count,” Ainsley Simpson said.

IS for Operations

With over $570billion worth of infrastructure in operation, the sustainable management and maintenance of each asset are critical as we strive towards net zero by 2050.
The IS Operations rating helps practitioners assess how operating assets, networks or portfolios of infrastructure assets are performing. It also helps identify economic, social and environmental opportunities and benefits efficiently, and continues to improve the way assets are operated.

  • Apply your existing Rating Skills knowledge

  • Compare two approaches to undertaking an Operations rating

  • Explore the creation of a base case using historical data Develop an action plan including a credit roadmap

Successful completion of IS Rating Skills AND IS for Operations including an end-of-course assessment builds the recommended skillset for an assessor undertaking an IS for Operations rating.

IS for Suppliers

Close the gap between suppliers, procurement divisions and the design/build team.
When projects and suppliers work together they are able to successfully drive innovation and develop sustainable solutions that support the decarbonisation of infrastructure. From communicating and evidencing value to using rating terminology and removing barriers during planning and procurement, this training will support users of sustainable materials and services in the selection process of both materials and providers in the infrastructure industry.
