Founded in 1894, the Ghella Group is a family-owned global reality in the construction of large public projects, specialised in underground excavation and tunnelling works such as subways, railways, highways and hydraulic projects, having built over the course of 150 years more than 130 tunnels and connected more than 1,000 kms of highways, railways and subways.
Ghella believes in a business model focused on leaving a better world to the next generations by aligning its modus operandi with the wellbeing of society, underpinned by a commitment to improve communications, freedom of movement, reduce environmental impact and optimise natural resources.

IS Projects
In addition to the NZ Central Interceptor project, targeting a version 1.2 ISC Design and As Built rating of excellent, the Ghella Group is currently involved in the execution of a further three ISC-certified projects in Australia for their strategic nature and social and environmental impact (source: Ghella Sustainability Report 2020):
