About the IS Planning Rating
IS v2.1 Planning Rating is a global first. A product offering a framework, benchmarks and assurance at the earliest considerations of an asset.
Designed to support decision makers, asset owners, investors and delivery authorities in recognising, unlocking and realising broader benefits from their infrastructure. The process assists by providing a repeatable framework for identifying and considering environmental, social and economic outcomes, building the requirements for tender phase and creating the connection between planning and design to ensure opportunities are clearly articulated and handed over.
IS Planning Ratings are also third party assured providing credibility which can increase social licence and reduce reputational risk. IS Planning has two distinct phases, strategic and detailed planning both designed to enhance and drive considerations of sustainability from the earliest stage whilst enabling the asset owner to make informed decisions about the outcomes they are delivering through their asset.
Aligned with the business case frameworks of all jurisdictions across Australia and New Zealand the IS v2.1 Planning Technical Manual is the only available planning phase sustainability rating scheme in Australia and New Zealand (and internationally). It provides a mechanism for asset owners to de-risk their delivery phase whilst enabling and measuring the broader outcomes their assets can deliver.
The strategic phase of IS Planning focuses on demand identification and analysis, strategic options identification, strategic option assessment and strategic option decisions.
The Detailed planning phase of IS Planning focuses on project options development, Project options assessment, reference design development, scope definition and procurement.
The Infrastructure Sustainability Council also acknowledges and thanks GHD for their role and valuable contribution in assisting with the update of the IS v2.1 Planning Rating Technical Manual.
