End of Year Message

As the year draws to an end, ISCA would like to acknowledge its members and the wider infrastructure sector for your leadership and contribution to infrastructure sustainability.

We have seen a rapid increase of infrastructure projects committed to sustainability – so far we have awarded 8 certified ratings across seven infrastructure projects. But more importantly, we close off the year with 27 registered ratings across Australia and New Zealand, and 5 of these will be going through final verification early next year.

The projects registered range from Australia’s biggest infrastructure projects to significant road, transport and water projects, all the way to community based/local government assets (water and transport). Project proponents like Transport for NSW; Roads and Maritime Services (NSW); Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (SA); Department of Transport and Main Roads (QLD); ACT Government; Public Transport Authority (WA) and Main Roads (WA), as well as airports and ports around the country, are leading the way in getting projects registered early in the planning stages.

We are excited for the coming year with some of our key activities already in train such as the development of two additional themes: economic and workforce, building the business case for infrastructure sustainability, and the roll out of an updated training material for 2015. Through the ISCA Working Groups and ongoing sector engagement, we will continue to collaborate with you to advance infrastructure sustainability.

We wish you a safe and happy Christmas and look forward to continue to work with you in the new year.

ISCA Team
