About

The Stratex Recycled Drain Guard provides temporary protection for stormwater drains against sediment and hydrocarbon pollution. It is made from recycled gawk screen and Spilltration Husky absorbent media, both of which are made from 100% recycled materials. The Recycled Drain Guard is designed for rapid deployment and can be installed with a weighted object, such as a silt sock or sand bag. The Recycled Drain Guard can also be installed underneath drain grates for a more durable and semi-permanent solution. Simply fit drain guard to underside of grate and trim excess material. In addition to using recycled materials in its construction, Stratex Recycled Silt Socks are produced in collaboration with social enterprise, Assembled Threads. This partnership ensures a high quality of product is achieved, whilst helping to provide meaningful employment opportunities for individuals from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds.

Sustainability Outcomes

Mesh from Landfill Waste – Temporary fence PVC banner mesh or ‘gawk screen’ is found on construction sites and often ends up in landfill after a project ends.
